H Solgar®Vitamin C 500 mg Vegetable Capsules contains Vitamin C, an antioxidant essential vitamin for body health that is often used to boost the immune system. Vitamin C is known to promote healthy skin and healthy joints. Also known as Ascorbic Acid, Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin.

Unlike most animals, humans cannot produce Vitamin C. As this vitamin participates in more than 300 body functions, it needs regular replenishment. Its primary function is to maintain collagen, a protein necessary for the creation of skin, ligaments, bones and teeth and for strengthening the walls of blood vessels. In addition, Vitamin C plays an important role in the absorption of iron, which is required for the creation of red blood cells. It also participates in the utilization of Folic Acid, one of the Vitamins of the B Complex.

Vitamin C has been observed to be destroyed by food preparation more than any other nutrient. Also, the body does not store Vitamin C but tends to excrete excessive amounts.

Use & storage:
Taken as a dietary supplement for adults, 1 capsule daily, preferably with meals. Do not exceed the instructions for use.
