Solgar Astaxanthin 5mg Food Supplement with Astaxanthin with Strong Antioxidant Action 30 softgels

 Astaxanthin 5mg by SOLGAR®contains a natural carotenoid from the algo Haematococcus pluvialis (freshwater algae ) and has strong antioxidant properties.

Carotenes are mainly found in fruits and vegetables, with beta-carotene found in those that are dark orange or green in color . Astaxanthin imparts a bright red-orange color to lobster, salmon and certain seaweeds. As some diets do not include a range of fruits and vegetables, it is useful to take a supplement to achieve adequate levels of carotenoids.

More specifically, astaxanthin exhibits a much stronger antioxidant effect compared to Vitamin E and beta- carotene as due to its molecular structure it can and does act both in a lipidic and in an aqueous environment. In addition, it has the ability to recycle other antioxidants, such as vitamins C and E as well as lutein, beta carotene and glutathione.

Research has shown that it is a particularly useful substance for the human body in protecting the eyes from degenerative changes. In addition, it can help cardiovascular and nervous system health, and it can protect the skin from UV radiation.
