Vitamin D is actually a hormone, as it is synthesized in the body us when exposed to the sun. It is extremely important for normal and healthy bone and tooth development, muscle function, a strong immune system and general health. Due to modern lifestyles (working long hours, covering our skin, using high UV factors, avoiding the sun due to the risk of skin cancer) and diet, not to mention the long winters, we normally do not get enough of this very important vitamin.

Extensive research over the past decade has shown a link between vitamin D deficiency and many health problems and diseases. Vitamin D plays a key role in bone and tooth health as it helps regulate of the optimal level and absorption of calcium from the blood. In addition, it supports muscle and immune system function, as it plays an important role in cell reproduction.

    Infants 0–12m+ : 10mcg – 400IU
    Children, Adolescents, Adults : 15mcg – 600IU
    Adults 70 years and over : 20mcg – 800IU
