L-Mesitran® ACTIVE. Waterproof Self Adhesive Medical Grade Honey Healing Pad

L-Mesitran® Active 7.5cm X 4.5cm (useful surface area 3cm x 5cm) is a waterproof, self-adhesive polymer pad of high quality sealing offering greater protection and functionality to the patient. It is an excellent choice for healing small surface ulcers with any degree of exudate or mild cell necrosis.


INDICATIONS

    < li>Superficial decubitus ulcers up to 2nd degree with any degree of exudate or mild necrosis.
  • 1st and 2nd degree thermal, chemical, radiotherapy burns.
  • Diabetic ulcers.
  • li>Post-operative wounds and areas of graft removal, with any degree of exudate.
  • Suture sealing and protection.
  • The product does not regenerate, skin discontinuity is required and is applied directly to the traumatic tissue of an open lesion (ulcer, wound, burn).

COMPOSITION

  • Medical grade honey (30%): Low osmotic effect.

  • Polyacrylic polymers: Absorb exudate by trapping it inside the patch, while maintaining a beneficial, moist healing environment.
  • Polyurethane film lining: Effective waterproofing and ulcer protection.
  • Advanced adhesive silicone: Excellent quality adhesive material, absorbs skin movements without disturbing.

Shelf life: 3 years

Storage conditions: 5-25 Co. In the event that the product is exposed to a temperature higher than intended, which causes the content to change from thick to liquid, the tube should be pressed gradually at each point and placed in the refrigerator.

PRODUCT FEATURES

  • Has high capacity absorption of exudates -up to 7 times the weight of the product- trapping moisture and any necrotic, bacterial cells inside.
  • It has high quality adhesive silicone which assimilates any body movements without detaching.
  • Contributes significantly to the development and maintenance of a moist healing environment due to the natural substance of medical-grade honey and the polymer components of the product, developing a cool, luscious surface covering the ulcer.
  • Strengthens neutralizing ulcer inflammation soothing swelling through its anti-inflammatory elements and providing rich oxygenation, vitamins, amino acids and nutrients to the ulcer.
  • Develops and maintains a natural, antiseptic environment in the ulcer, through enzymatic reaction and subsequent production of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), while it does not act cytotoxic, as is the case with conventional antiseptic/antimicrobial substances (silver, oxygen, betadin, etc.), even if the prolonged use and presence of the product in the damage.

DIRECTIONS FOR APPLICATION

  • It is recommended to clean the ulcer with saline before applying the patch.
  • The patch ensures painless changes as it peels off easily during removal without injuring the tissue.
  • To remove the patch the user needs to peel off one edge slightly and pull it horizontally, not upwards. It continues gradually with the same movements around the perimeter of the patch until its complete detachment.
  • The patches adapt to the relief of the ulcer while it is required that the skin area around the ulcer is dry before placing them on it. The product has high-quality adhesive silicone that assimilates any body movements without detaching.
  • The indicated time of keeping the product on the ulcer is determined to be 1-5 days depending on the amount of exudations. The noticeable swelling of the patch is an indication that its absorbent capacity is covered and a new one is needed.
  • The product has no effect on blood glucose levels and does not penetrate the wound. No side effects have been observed or reported to date, however it is recommended not to be used by people allergic to its ingredients.
